Ponchatoula Jaycees Annual Christmas Project

December 17, 2016

Through various fundraisers, the Ponchatoula Jaycees raise money each year to purchase Christmas gifts for a handful of families in the local community that are selected based on need and/or unfortunate circumstance or hardship. In 2016, we dedicated the profits from a charity softball tournament and a charity poker crawl to go towards our Christmas Project. Through an application process, we selected families referred to us through either our own members or from local churches. This past Christmas we decided to focus our charity on only families who were directly affected by the August flooding. In total, we raised over $9,700 between both fundraisers, which allowed us to play Santa Claus for 8 families, which included a total of 24 kids under the age of 18.
