Toast of Tangi, a new community event being hosted by the Ponchatoula Jaycees aims to recognize and honor outstanding citizens who live in Tangipahoa Parish who have made a positive impact in our community. These citizens often give back to the community without ever expecting or receiving anything in return. This is our chance to give them the recognition they rightfully deserve.
After a three month open nomination period, eleven nominees were selected by an independent panel, and will be honored on the evening of Saturday, July 22, 2017 at The Event Center in Hammond.
We would like to thank everyone from our community who nominated this group of dedicated volunteers who have given so much of their time and energy to making our community a better place to live.
The following individuals will be recognized and honored on July 22nd:
Jeanie Wright Cutrer
Ella Joy (EJ) Forgotston
*Note - John Barnes will be out of town and will presented at a later date.
This event is open to the public. Tickets are $10 and must be purchased in advance from a Jaycee member by Tuesday, July 18th. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Dinner will be included and a cash bar will be available. Business or cocktail attire is required. Mr. Johnny Chauvin will be the distinguished Master of Ceremonies for the evening.
We invite and encourage you to join us for this event, and to bring the whole family. We hope our honorees will inspire our youth to become engaged citizens themselves.
